About
Meet Johnny X. Martinez
How it all started:
Everything started with a screen glowing in the dark and an orchestra in my ears. The first time a score snapped a scene into focus—suddenly the stakes felt real—I understood that music could turn images into emotion, and I wanted to be on the other side of that sound.
I earned a degree in Music Composition for Games, Film, and Television from Berklee and am now completing a Master of Music in Film Scoring, digging deep into orchestration, narrative pacing, and sound design. That foundation has carried into scoring work across horror, sci-fi, drama, and drama-driven action, sharpening my instinct for clear emotional arcs and a defined sonic identity for each project.
Today, my main focus is film and television. I write symphonic-hybrid scores with bold themes, orchestral weight, and modern production—often with a symphonic-pop edge. I like to get involved early, helping directors and producers define the emotional shape of a story so every cue is doing real narrative work. My job is simple: translate what you want your audience to feel into sound they recognize instantly, even if they can’t explain why.
